Job description

Business Development Manager

Work as part of the Revenue & Growth team to identify potential partners, initiate meaningful conversations, and demonstrate how Ticketsolve can empower their organisations.

About the role

The Business Development Manager sits within Ticketsolve's Revenue & Growth team, a collaborative environment where sales and marketing align to identify, engage, and win new customers. You will serve as the first point of contact for theatres, arts centres, festivals, museums, galleries, and visitor attractions seeking a better way to manage their ticketing, marketing, fundraising and operations. Your primary objective is to identify potential partners, initiate meaningful conversations, and demonstrate how Ticketsolve can empower their organisations.

Ticketsolve has undergone a significant transformation in recent years. Our repositioning as a comprehensive live experience platform earlier this year cemented our status as an industry leader, driving substantial growth. This role is pivotal in sustaining and accelerating that momentum. Our platform is constantly evolving, with our development team releasing new features weekly. This continuous innovation fuels genuine excitement across the business about our potential for further expansion in the coming year.

You will research prospects, connect with key decision-makers, and introduce them to the value of Ticketsolve. With approximately 75% of our new business generated through inbound interest, a core part of your role will involve nurturing these leads and guiding them toward the right solution, alongside executing targeted campaigns in partnership with our Marketing team. As you build expertise and confidence in the platform, you will take autonomous ownership of opportunities, running product demos and guiding organisations through their procurement decisions. You will report to the Head of Revenue & Growth, work closely with Marketing and Customer Success, and play an active role in shaping our annual and quarterly OKRs.

Ticketsolve: driving success for arts, culture and heritage organisations

Ticketsolve is the live experience platform tailored for arts, culture, and heritage organisations. We unify ticketing, marketing, CRM, fundraising, memberships, payments, and data into one intuitive platform. For nearly two decades, we have been a trusted partner to the Ticketsolve Community, which now encompasses over 400 organisations across the UK and Ireland.

Our mission is to support our customers and enable them to thrive. Whether it means driving ticket sales, refining marketing strategies, expanding audiences, or kickstarting fundraising campaigns, our team is dedicated to providing expert guidance. The sector is evolving rapidly, and we are committed to staying at the forefront of the technology that shapes its future.

Our passion for the arts and dedication to our customers make us ambitious and results-driven, yet deeply collaborative. Our platform has been shaped directly by our user community, and we take pride in being more than just a ticketing provider; we are a strategic partner helping arts and cultural organisations succeed.

Team Ticketsolve

Our team is the driving force behind Ticketsolve’s success. We foster a culture built on trust, respect, and deep industry understanding; many of our team members have hands-on experience working in theatres, festivals, and cultural institutions.

Sales and marketing operate in tight alignment here. You will join a cohesive revenue team that co-creates campaigns, meets regularly to review performance, and holds itself accountable to clear, shared goals. We balance professionalism with a fun, supportive atmosphere, and as our newest team member, you will play a key part in enriching that culture.

‍

Key responsibilities

Identifying and Qualifying New Opportunities

  • Research and connect with potential customers across the arts, culture, and heritage sectors.
  • Follow up promptly on inbound leads, maintaining engagement regardless of where they are in the buying cycle.
  • Qualify prospects by deeply understanding their specific needs and challenges, ensuring Ticketsolve is the right strategic fit.

Building Relationships and Driving New Business

  • Build and maintain a robust pipeline to ensure a consistent flow of high-quality opportunities.
  • Collaborate closely with the Marketing team to plan and execute targeted outreach campaigns aimed at diverse organisational profiles.
  • Utilise HubSpot to track interactions, manage data, and continuously refine our prospect engagement strategies.

Engaging and Educating Prospects

  • Clearly articulate Ticketsolve’s value proposition, focusing on how our platform helps organisations increase revenue, streamline operations, and deepen audience engagement.
  • Prepare compelling proposals and lead tender/procurement responses, leveraging support from internal subject matter experts.
  • Develop a masterful understanding of the platform to independently run product demos and guide prospects confidently through their decision-making process.
  • Facilitate seamless handovers to our onboarding team, ensuring they have the complete context needed for a successful implementation.

Planning, Reporting, and Representing Ticketsolve

  • Contribute to drafting the revenue team's annual and quarterly OKRs, and regularly report on pipeline health and progress to the Head of Revenue & Growth.
  • Act as a brand ambassador for Ticketsolve at industry events and conferences to build relationships and elevate our market presence.
  • Monitor industry trends, competitor activity, and sector challenges, feeding valuable insights from prospect conversations back into our sales, marketing, and product strategies.

About you

We are looking for a proactive Business Development Manager who is excited to take ownership of their work and help shape our growth. We’d love to hear from you if you have a keen eye for commercial opportunities, the tenacity to see them through, and a genuine eagerness to understand both our platform and the cultural sector.

Rather than a strict checklist, we see the following qualities as the foundation for success in this role:

A Proactive and Self-Motivated Mindset

  • You naturally take the initiative to spark conversations, whether via email, networking, or industry events.
  • You thrive in an environment where you can work independently, taking pride in managing your own pipeline and moving conversations forward.

A Natural Communicator and Relationship-Builder

  • You feel comfortable and confident engaging with senior stakeholders, actively listening to their challenges, and exploring how Ticketsolve might help.
  • You are an engaging writer who can craft compelling messages, from a thoughtful initial outreach email to a comprehensive proposal or tender response.

A Consultative Approach to Sales

  • You prioritise listening and understanding over "hard selling," driven by a desire to help organisations find solutions that genuinely fit their needs.
  • You view business development as the start of a long-term partnership and enjoy nurturing leads over time.
  • You are eager to become a product expert, with a goal of growing into a role where you can confidently manage opportunities end-to-end and conduct compelling demos.

Organised, Commercial, and Data-Driven

  • You are adept at juggling multiple conversations, follow-ups, and deadlines, ideally using a CRM (like HubSpot) to keep everything running smoothly.
  • You are comfortable operating with targets in mind, analysing your metrics to see what’s working, and contributing to broader team OKRs.
  • You enjoy spotting behavioural patterns in how prospects engage and using those insights to continuously refine your approach.

A Passion for Learning

  • You possess a natural curiosity about the inner workings of arts and cultural organisations and the unique challenges they face.
  • Bonus: Previous experience in ticketing, SaaS, or the cultural sector is wonderful to have, but a relentless drive to learn and grow is what matters most to us.

What we offer

‍

This role offers significant responsibility from day one, direct exposure to the leadership team, and the unique opportunity to help shape our growth trajectory.

Alongside this, we offer:

  • 25 days' holiday plus bank holidays, with additional days accrued for long service.
  • Remote working flexibility, complemented by regular team meetups, social events, and an annual company retreat.
  • Pension scheme with up to a 3% employer contribution.
  • Enhanced maternity and adoption leave.
  • Dedicated professional development with a management team highly invested in your career growth.
  • Fully covered travel expenses and per diems for work-related trips.
